I tested it with 6 X-metals and it holds steady. I could probably add a 7th tier but don't want it risk it being unstable. Besides, a height of six tiers reaches the height of two Doublewide shelves with a just a little extra clearance, so that's enough for me. Other than that, the good thing about the 4.0 stands is it's more modular than the 3.0 stands, so you can actually construct something more stable, even if the result looks somewhat funny.
wow that is nice... I am planning to make my own cabinet since it is difficult to get one here... hopefully I can comeup with something good... lol.. first time making one...
Spent a good two hours looking at display cases on different websites looking for pieces comparable to the Oakley mega towers. Oh there are! But for the prices these stores want, I may as well just wait for the opportunity to grab the real thing.
It may be a hassle to search, track, target and buy a real mega tower but now I understand that the hunt is well worth it and not just in terms of authenticity. My wallet would literally know zero difference.
And I thought Ebay sellers were bad about price. Turns out, I was the one who was all screwed up. I take it back! I take it all back!!
Congratulations on the epiphany! All of us realize the same at one point or another. The original authentic stuff is the way to go; That said, most of us start of with a starter case of some sort like an IKEA Detolf before we get an Oakley-branded one.

Yup. That's where I'm at. I'm running out of space and am currently scouring sites as well. Detolf's are great but, a Double Wide is a bit nicer than 2, though.
I bought the display on the right from a local display company. It was on 'sale' for $600, and looking back, I only paid $75-400 for my various official displays on Craigslist.
