You can't do laser etching at an O Store. It can only be done through phone orders.

I'm in put me down for one right now. Ask around. Maybe we can get a few friends to join the review and have an opportunity to get a unique pair for becoming one.

Which O stores can do the etching? I'm really glad they offer that there now. Can it be done that day or do you have to wait?
Its going to be scary when O stores can do etching. I'm going to be getting a lot more etched lenses at my local O store.

I wouldn't mind a little more expensive ones like juliets but i think the best way to get the amount of people needed to pull this off would be to go with something cost effective like the fives 3.0

I know this has probably been stated a time or two - but on the OCE page, lets say for the Fives 3.0...is that all the frame/lense set-ups avalible? Or is there more, that just haven't been posted.

Cause I'm personally thinking of a Metallic Black/G30 Ti Fives 3.0, if this "project" doesn't fall through; and have "O-Review" etched on the lense; but the G30 Ti is only avalible on the Asian fits, and is not avalible as a replacement lense, yet.

Well, bottom line, Dann hasn't said he would do an Official O-Review pair.
I'm sorry if I opened a can of decaying worms. I was just voicing an opinion as to why I feel the whole "official" pair went awry, and what a good solution would be.

Dann hasn't said if he even wants to attempt it again. i'm sorry for adding fuel to the fire. however might I suggest that if Dann does go ahead and elect to do something with say, the fives 3.0 or whatever, perhaps a simple colorway that is ambiguous and able to be worn by everyone such as black frames titanium lens, for example may be the fairest way to go. I enjoy my ruby and vr28 black and g30's as well but if we can only get the bulk order in one color way getting it in a universal colorway might be the best way to go...assuming it were to ever happen at all. just my 2 cents.

So true, I have waaay too much on my plate right now anyway. Plus I don't see the big deal about an O-Review pair. With the custom etching, just order a pair with your nickname or handle. Would mean more to anyone involved than getting some website name on it.

Dann, what were you thinking? I mean, yeah, you may be busy, we understand that, at least most of us do, and we don't want to stir up a hornets nest again like the "other" attempt did, but really now, it isn't just "some website"...If it were, I doubt Jannard would have bothered with seeing what all the fuss is about, and what all or most of the HQ employees are discussing in the gym, or out on breaks in the building...

my advice, if you want an o-review pair; order one from OCE yourself , there is no way that this is ever going to happen, money-wise and logistic-wise is it too much of a challenge.

for you guys in the USA ; pick up the phone , dial oakley, and order a laser-etched O-REVIEW whatever pair you want.

...and while you do that, we humble Europeans will wait in envy!

Is the name "O-Review" also copyrighted and are there not legal issues involved now?

Well our official stance is not to let O-Review be custom etched, so there don't end up being a bunch of random pairs floating around, which is why I suggested getting your username or similar instead. If this does ever happen, I'd like it all to be uniform. Not that I don't trust most of you, but the last thing I need is any ol person showing up, custom etching one and then going out and representing the site. Same reason business cards never happened.

for now it is mostly the cali. stores. It will be in all stores in november. It will be a special order on the lenses (and they can only be purchased with an O custom order) I am told turn around time will be one week.

Besides, you can't get O-REVIEW on custom etching right now anyhow. They only allow letters and numbers, so you would be missing the required "-" in your OCE.

There may be other options available, but do go thinking they'll do fashionesque lenses as they had on Thump 2 for all the OCE styles. I think you may get Fire or Ice outside of the norm that's already available in the frames. And, as had been said above, hold off on going for an O-Review custom.

Please lets not try and pursue the O-Review etching thing any further, because if Dann says that he hasnt got the time or money to make something like this happen, then why on earth would anybody want to ignore his words and continue with it?

He already said that it would have been nice MAYBE if for some reason in the future any were made up, that he would like to keep them uniform, so if everybody wanted to do there own thing, then it would be better to get your own killer custom pair made up, complete with your username etching.

Although Dann has the respect of all of us, he is still only a normal guy, with quite a busy life, so its best to let him make the final judgement on this, (which he already has.)
