So ive been wondering what the last three digits at the end of the sku's mean.

Which ones. The first were ##-### where the first two were often grouped. Usually 04 or 05 for glasses and the last three were sequential. 12-### was often for special editions.

Lux then implemented OO####-## and this year added the sizing information onto the end, so usually 55 or 57. Rx glasses actually had these for a while since it was more relavent, rather than calling things the 4.0 or 6.0 when there was no 1, 2, 3, etc...

Ahh OK at the end of the sku# of my EVZeros it as a 3 digit number. I believe 125.

I have a stupid question for you guys. I just bought the new Retina Burn Radar Ev's with the Prizm Road lens. When I looked at the model number I noticed something pretty peculiar on my pair. It has all the right numbers with an added NPI in all caps. So it reads oo9275-1735 128 NPI

What does the NPI signify or represent? I haven't heard or come across anything like this before.

Any and all help is much appreciated in solving this brain buster.

New Product Introduction.

Before a new model or colourway is released, there are pairs made for internal reasons. I would classify them in somewhat the same realm as Sales Samples.

Man I feel like this thread was created just for me. Does anyone know where I could find a couple of new evzero nose pieces? I found a couple pairs for sale without the complete nose piece, bought them, and haven't been able to find a replacement for them anywhere.

Have you tried the M Frame or M2 nosepieces. Oakley has usually been good with cross-compatibility on the shield lenses. Mumbo, Zero, and M Frame all shared the same cutouts (despite a few cosmetic differences just for looks). New Razor Blade and New Zero shared the same single piece nose, as well as the dual sport options. Radar integrated into the frame, but I do need to check into the EV Zero, M2, M Frame Alpha and related options.

I haven't tried the M Frame or the M2 nosepiece, but after looking at the them in pictures they seem to look almost identical. It'd be worth it to give them a shot right? What have I got to lose?

I'll give them a call today and see if I can go that route. I did more recently call to see if I could get icons for a pair of custom Radar EV's I purchased and they promptly told me they were not available for individual purchase. Hopefully because it is something that will eventually wear out they will be more willing to part ways with a couple.

If not telesales, you can always drop by a smaller mom & pop dealer to see if they have any. Reps are always giving them parts. They may not necessarily know what they have since spare parts start to look alike after a while, but you never know. Otherwise they can order some in for you since they will have great access to that type of stuff.

Icons have always been a no-no, but earsocks and nose pieces they should be able to help you out with.

I'm starting to think that finding these nose pieces will be something like the never ending quest for the Holy Grail. I called into Oakley and they turned me in the direction of Luxotica's service website, where it is listed that no replacement parts for Oakley sunglasses are available. This leads me to my next dumb question., Can the EV Zero lens be removed from the frames? I really hope so because I have the Chrone Iridium, Prizim field combo lens and the would look sick in my silver EV Zero frames.

You can, but you want to do it the least amount of times possible. Preferably once. Here's a New Zero for reference, but the design will be similar. The upper notch is smaller so you would rotate the frame away from that side first. Then reverse to put the new frame on.

Probably just because it was never entered. The lens database can be a bit frustrating since Oakley tends to publish inconsistent VLT numbers for the same lens, and the database is supposed to reflect the source material. With numbers sometimes all over the place, it can be a hassle to nail down a good number.

But just going off what is available, my guess would be:

Grey = 18%
+Red = 15%
Polar = minus 1-2% VLT (average)

+RIP = 13 to 14% VLT

That seems about right; Grey, BI & BIP have the most consistent VLT; the polarization filter (usually) only subtracts 1% to 2% VLT, and +Red is listed as 15%, which is in the general ballpark with Emerald, Jade, & Ruby (3-5% VLT).

I wouldn't enter that into the database, though. That's just my guess :)
