Just thought i would mention. Im sure everyone is aware of the yellow/orange ruby fiasco. Well the other day i noticed a lot of the newer replacement lens sets my store has been getting have been more red/purple like older ruby. The production dates on the were in Feb/08. And i pulled several out to check, and im being optimistic here, but it would seem that they have fixed the yellow ruby problem.

Now im just hoping the ruby for crosshair, hijinx. and all the other new replacement lenses that are coming this month will be of the dark red/purple ruby rather than the yellow variety.

One could hope they are more red then they are now. I just hope that there's not a lot of purple in them. IMO, I'm not a big fan of purplish Ruby lenses. I like them just plain red as they were meant to be orignally, not +Red.

The MD ones are great, but the Canteen and Gascan ones are a bit yellow. Nice to see that the vintage of the lens makes no difference now.

I'm having the same problem w/ my Hijinx and Crosshairs i cant get the red on the lens to stand out they look like fire

it is all about the batch dates. I had 5 gascan rubys come in and 3 of them are sick and full of purple and dark, the other 2 were more fire and sure enough the 3 good ones all had the same date and the others were different.

Right, I just meant more often than not that's how I've seen them.

Yeah, it is weird that after this much time, they can't perfect that color of the coating.

No man, it is a generational thing. Really. I have a "1st Gen" gascan ruby that looks as good as a "1st gen" ruby Juliet...HAHAHA...My Gascans actually look better, but shhhhh, you didn't hear it from me...

I'll give you $2000 for them.

Okay, but you can't change them out and put in a set of hi blue and call them one of a kind from your collection, OKAY!! The only way you can call them ONE OF A KIND is if you use a set of Keystone prototype lenses and steal his text!! Just so we are clear!...
