Just because it was long overdue, I recently made a little personal site for myself to discuss all my various interests and there is a fair bit of Oakley-related stuff and pics on there.

I've got the pages about my carbon fiber glasses projects, as well some other photography and such.

Thought some of you guys might get a few moments of enjoyment out of it.

You can also use my URL shortener if you want, for Oakley related topics. It's in the sidebar. :)

Cheers.

Dude I love the site! I can admire the web design as much as the Oakley passions. My latest/coolest site is my web design company at http://zAAngmedia.com. For the first time I think I can say that I have a company with a decent site. Usually I work on everyone else's and never get around to building my own. But if I'm going to do web design for folks, I figure I need to build one for myself.

+1 on the fantastic design. I love it. I'm a photographer, and did my own scratch-build web design myself. It's serviceable, but probably less than what I'd have if I hired someone with your madskillz.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was fun to make, and I'll be adding stuff about Oakley and my various projects as I go along. I'm trying to finish up my briefcase and then I'll get back to my sunglasses v.2

You guys have some nice sites too! I like the flowery logo on zaangmedia, that's a cool style. I've used similar motifs myself.

Nice photos Nick. I've worked with some photogs over the years, it's always cool to see what they can do. That's a fun hobby too, I just need some buckets of cash to get a 7D and some sweet lenses. :)

Forget the 7D. The APS-C format is where it's at. For the price of a 7D body, you could buy a D300 (we use those) and several great lenses. Crop format makes cameras cheaper, lighter, and more compact.

Heh. Sorry man, I'm a Canon fanboy. After my brother (who's a pro newspaper photog) switched to Canon I won't go back. You can keep your Nikon junk. :-D

The 7D is an APS-C format camera. Seems to be a good camera for only a few hundred more than the ##D line.

Thanks all. It's fun to share the passion for this stuff with like minded folks that appreciate it. :)

I just added an article about my "grails" inspired by the thread on here. I figured that somewhere in the world there is a very generous soul that will read that page and gift me all of those items, just because I'm awesome.

Well, ok, maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but you never know until you try.

Funny about the Canon v. Nikon debate. I know more pros who have switched TO Nikon ... but most professionals (including me) will tell you that there's no appreciable difference. It's the photographer, not the camera, that makes great pictures. That's my 2 cents anyway.

<paul puts on his fake moderator hat>

Guys, let's keep the geeky camera talk to the 'official photography thread'.

((just poking fun - it all brings back fond memories of experiencing camera and iphone dorks chatting it up at the co-pilot event))
