You know, I generally try to be open minded, but I literally have to say that for the past few days, I have been a mixture of ashamed and scared that I'm ethnically Chinese seeing as that the Virginia Tech killer was from South Korea. I know that all cultures and ethnicities have their psychos, but I guess it never really sunk in quite as much as this news breaker did.

I'm not sure if any of you out there got a chance to see the homemade video that Cho made of himself, but if you had no beforehand knowledge that he went out and shot 30 people, you'd have almost laughed at him for being the latter-end bloomer of teen angst. With everything come to light, it's more disturbing than scary--the video itself that is--because these kinds of videos are being made every day.

So, you know what? Be angry--anger is good so long as you focus it directly and constructively. I'm going to do my best to live my life, continue to be American--NOT chinese-American, but American--and steer clear of any potential unstable persons out there who are having a really bad day.

What should scare everyone the most, in my opinion, is not so much that I've already met a lot of people who KNEW people who knew people who were killed at V.T., and not that I can already feel the anti-asian sentiment mounting, but that I feel that *anyone* pushed far enough with stress can flip out, and kill someone.

I'm scared what happened to middle-easterners after 9/11 will happen to anyone that is Asian, even though Koreans and the Chinese and Japanese all look different. People are so ignorant that they mistake all Asians as the same.

I do wish you and all Asians the best, and that people are smart enough to realize that he was a freak occurance, not a posterchild of his race.

I don't associate race with this at all. I am proud of who I am. I really fail to see why ethnicity should ever be a factor in how anyone judges me or anyone else. This young man was nothing more than a disturbed misguided fool. Anybody with half a brain knows that violence only leads to more violence and suffering.

Did he solve anything with his life or others with what he did? Did anyone learn the "lesson" he was trying to convey with his actions? He failed on all fronts on this fools errand.

There's a whole bunch of white people killing others and we Dutch haven't done the most proudest things in the past, yet I'm still proud of who and what I am.

You're a unique individual and by being so, you've got your own chance to change the world. For the better or the worst.

Jonathan, I hope that the backlash doesn't occur. This was completely an isolated incident and that shooter could have been from any nationality. There was no religious or cultural motivation in the killings, just one very disturbed individual. I personally would not project that killers image on any race of people. Hopefully others will feel the same....

I figure anyone who turns this Virginia Tech tragedy into a race thing is pretty much borderline racist, if not outright so. There's a lot of racists out there just looking for an excuse; that's something that just can't be stopped.

I think racism is the easy way to blame for everything...in this case, it is someone who needed help, alot of it. No grudge here.

One of the local high schools here was locked down after someone reported someone in the parking lot with a gun. He came foward three hours and said it was hoax.

Yeah I haven’t seen a thing about race or even South Koreans only heard talk about loners, guns, and that he was the right age for Schizophrenia to develop.

He is not South Korean as the news suggests, he is of South Korean decent. He was raised in Washington and is an American citizen, therefor he is an American.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family's that lost loved ones with in this tragedy.

I never once considered his race.... he was a very disturbed young man... It's sad and horrible but his race is irrelevant. I see no reason or logic at all for an Asian backlash....
