Being of that generation Darren, I dig it. The blue camo sweatshirt is a little much but if it comes in any other colors, I'm in.

sorry bill, that wasn't a dig at anyone in particular!

money burns a hole in my pocket too, i'm just kinda glad i got into oakley when i did so i ended up with a lot of the older designs, which, fair enough, may not be to everyones taste, but they were so much more innovative in my opinion.

I know we must have been over this every time a new season gets launched! But if I'd never taken any notice of oakley in the past, and just noticed it now, i'd just class it as i would quicksilver or burton or whatever, and i guess it does fall into that category, but way back, it was just, different!

It screamed Oakley with a silent silvery negative silhouette of an icon stitched in a sea of nothing but vast blackness.

er, yeah so maybe the clothes shouldnt all be black! but you know what i mean...they just seem to be trying too hard, when before they didn't even have to try.

guess it shows the kind of mainstream people that are buying the clothes etc.

but didn't they mention somewhere that oakley protected you from the mediocre?

ok i'll shut up now

No no I hear ya, you can always voice your opinions man. Thats what this place is about. That stuff was great when it came out, but I would never wear it now. Just changin with the times; and I think theres a little bit of broader appeal mixed in as well, which is good for the brand.

yeah true, i'd lie to see more innovative designs though, adaptable clothing with more features, i think burton had a coat with ipod controlls on the sleeve, things like that, more interactivity, how cool would ap clothing be if you could buy lets say extra sleeves for a jacket with more pockets sewn in or body armour in them, not just hoods that zip off

sorry, changing the subject a bit here, but imagine the ap vest, a bit longer kind of jacket length, with a front zip, then another zip to fit it inside an external shell, and with zips to attach extra sleeves, plain fleece or even lycra/nylon sleeves, to be used as a mid/base layer which too could be attached to the shell layer which too has removable/interchangable arms/hood, an ap hood with goggle attachments, flightdeck speaker inserts and or earmuffs, the whole set could be sold as one with every combination of vest, arms, hoods, shell, backpack, even shorts with zip on legs etc, like a completely versatile exoskeleton,or sold as separate components to gradually build up or strip down according to the particular need/activity.

one kit for every situation/sport etc extra add ons will always be dreamed up to keep the line fresh, in other colours or with camo options etc

the same concept could even apply to lifestyle clothing, maybe not in such great detail but along the same lines.

dunno, just feel more could be done

Sounds amazing. Id buy it if they made it. Its hard to tell from a few color boards and fashion show pics what innovations Oakley has ahead. Perhaps something similar is in the works for an AP 2.0 line. It seems well within their line of thinking and ability to create something like you've described. Guess we'll have to just wait and see and hope they dont let us down. Great idea Darren.

Wow, back from business and look what's happened here....

Yeah, I second your sentiments, Jose. I'm not feelin' the new logo at all. Too 'bright'. Even Russian Iron Curtain stuff has to look a little darker.

Although, I hope they take inspiration from that kind of theme. It could lead to more odd looking pieces and odd is what Oakley *should* be all about.
