Correct on both accounts. The db is bare when it comes to the straight stems.

Sorry to bring this thread back again , but it is just such a good guide for M Frames and let me thank everyone who has taken the time to contribute such valuable information and pictures very helpful now for some brain teasers-

1 Has anyone ever seen a Gen 2 pair in Black Rain ?
2 As Dann put the Japanese sales brochure online I take it clear and red crystal Gen 1 frames were legit and issued somewhere in the world?

Gen 1 crystal red and clear are definitely legit.

The only color that seems up for debate is the green.

My Black Rain is a Gen 1, not sure if there is a Gen 2

The green is not a crystal and only a couple pics have popped up....could be a proto.

If I remember correctly I have seen a Gen II Black rain although all of mine are Gen I

At this point, we should have all the official gen 1 combos in the database due to those catalogs we stumbled upon. Gen 2 is trickier since I only have a few website caches to explore and little in the way of printed material.

Since this thread is brought back, has anyone ever seen a Black Iridium Strip lens? I think I have seen all of them except BI.

Thanks gang I will be posting some pics soon to help with the growing data base , bit of a mine field really I think typical of the time dealers ect just stuck any combo together and sold it , remember my Gen 1 minutes , for years I thought they were eye jackets as came in that box , happy days

You're exactly right, which made getting the proper combos posted on the site a huge mystery for a good ten years. Small shops were freer to hot swap combos to make a sale.
