Has anyone ever bought a pair of Oakleys to commemorate the loss of a loved one?
About two weeks ago, we had my cat Zoe put down because of liver failure. She was a wonderful companion ever since I've been out on my own, and I took it pretty hard. Every single morning for the past 8 years, Zoe would sit and wait for me to get out of the shower. Even on her last day she still made sure she was there to greet me even though she was in pain. The first day she wasn't waiting to say "good morning" was pretty rough, so I did the only sensible thing and jumped onto Oakley's web site to create a custom pair of shades in her memory. Grey with green eyes. I call them "Zoakleys".
Since my wife is currently laid off and they weren't very cheap, we decided we should probably wait to buy them. Ken Siverts (Heglock) heard this and he wasn't going to have it. He emailed me a copy of the order with a message saying "No worries. They're on their way." That was such a thoughtful thing to do. Thanks so much, Ken!
Very sorry to hear of your loss, Jason. Because many people consider their pets family members it can really hurt when they're gone. But hold onto those good memories, and thanks for sharing with us.
that was a real nice gesture Ken, kudos. sorry for your loss Jason, i cannot imagine waking up and my feline companion not being there as well. Family pets are always special. and nice way to rem her.
